The $450 TCL 10 Pro offers solid performance and battery life, along with an attractive design and a beautiful display that can easily hold their own against much more expensive Android flagships.

The TCL 10 Pro is halfway between a mid-range smartphone and an affordable one, boasting great features and a high-end design. On closer inspection, however, cracks – like its price/performance balance – start to appear.

The 10 Pro is TCL’s big attempt at making a name for itself in the world of smartphones. But while it’s a great-looking device with a big bright screen, it struggles to match its internal performance with these positives.

The TCL 10 Pro offers almost everything you could want in a $450 phone, including a stellar design, long battery life and a gorgeous display. However, the camera performance could be better.

The TCL 10 Pro sports some eye-catching hardware, including a slick design and a physically well-integrated quad-lens camera. But there are significant snags throughout, such as an oddly calibrated AMOLED display and a camera that yields inconsistent results. It’s not a bad phone, but you can get so much more for the money, whether you’re minded towards Android or iOS.
