Bose Smart Soundbar 600

The Bose Soundbar 600 is decent for mixed usage. It reproduces dialogue in your favorite TV shows with clarity, along with detailed voices and instruments in many different music genres. With its TrueSpace technology, you enjoy additional height effects, even when you listen to stereo and 5.1 surround content. Aside from its bass and treble adjustments, there aren't a ton of customization tools, though, and you'll need to add on a sub and satellites if you want better bass reproduction and surround sound.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 is a small and feature-packed speaker that features upward-firing drivers for height-based spatial audio, but its highs can be cutting and its bass response is often too thin.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 delivers big Dolby Atmos sound from a compact design. Dialogue clarity is excellent, and while it doesn’t hit the low bass notes that other soundbar systems with an included subwoofer manage, it offers up consistently exciting sound when watching movies and TV. Onboard streaming features, including AirPlay 2 and Chromecast, are plentiful, app-based setup is a breeze, and everything is packaged here in an attractive all-in-one form factor. This is a budget soundbar to be reckoned with.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 delivers big Dolby Atmos sound but falls short in some aspects, and its insistance on spatial audio when it isn't always convincing might be frustrating. However, its compelling feature set helps to make up for this, making it an appealing choice for users prioritising convenience and functionality over audiophile-level sound.

It’s not without its foibles, but the Bose Smart Soundbar 600 has plenty to recommend it – especially if all your favourite movies are in Dolby Atmos…
